My mom made pizza during my 1wk postop... I peeled everything off & licked the pizza sauce... lol sounds weird I know, now I'm on solids & don't need to "lick" anything :)

Glad to read all of these threads. Tomorrow is 1 month for me. Had a small fill last week but still have no idea how much I can eat, I feel no restriction. My only limitation is self-imposed and that didn't work before I was banded so it won't work for long now. I have lost about 20 pounds since 2 weeks before surgery but now it's stalled and actually went up 3 pounds. Scared I am eating too much but then I think back on how much I was eating before I started this journey. I feel I should have lost more already. Impatient! Glad to hear that there will be a time that I physically can't eat all I want. Ready for another fill already. Thanks all!

I was banded on the 30th. I seem to have come to a standstill as far as weight. My Dr. really has not given me any information. I went in for a followup but it was very short. I did not know what to ask and he said to eat what I could tolerate. I am eating semi soft food. Still do the Protein Shake. I know I am not drinking enough Fluid so maybe that is why my weight loss has stopped. I don't know the size of my band or where my port is so I guess I should have asked more questions. I do go in for my first fill the 26th and after viewing this site I will have a number of questions to ask!! Dox

I got my band on 6/11/12, and my father died unexpectedly 6/14/12. I stuck to diet well even with the added stress, but on the day of his funeral, I just feel like I went crazy. I was supposed to stay with the pureed foods all this week, but the evening of the funeral. I ate twizzlers (chewed up very well) and chocolate. I am concerned that I have caused damage, but I feel ok besides some bloating and gas after my big cheat. I thought I would try back on Protein Shakes today to get me back on track and to stop the sugar craving. Any advice?

Oh please so don't worry. My daughters dr (one of the leading drs in us for banding) doesn't even put you on a preop diet just the night before. And post op was just a few days. He wants his patients adjusting to normal food as quickly as poss. As long as you didn't get jammed up I would think it just fine. Had you gone out and tried to eat a big ol ribeye maybe that would be diff. Lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
