What Are You Looking Forward To?

Recommended Posts

I made a list of things that have nothing to do with how I will look, because that is just icing on the cake.

  • Not taking or reducing my Meds. for Diabetes
  • Feeling good and healthy
  • No back pain
  • Sleeping better
  • Being physically strong

What about you all?

I have been doing CrossFit for more than a year - all the gals there look so incredible and I've actually SEEN their bodies change. I am SO looking forward to my changes showing up. I know you said not about how you look but I'm not talking about being skinny, I'm talking about my hard work showing up. That's what I think of when I think of how strong I will become. An athlete :)

I am looking forward to not getting winded walking from my car to my classroom or not getting winded when I have to climb a flight of stairs.

I look forward to feeling better and reducing my medication. I look forward to shopping in the "regular" clothes department.

But most of all, I look forward to a longer life.

That's a great thing to look forward to, because that brings up the feeling of well-being. Savor it and Celebrate it when you get there, and of course share it with us :)

This came up a week ago:

Clip my toenails and tie my shoes without grunting and losing my breath.

Fit into an airline seat without rubbing shoulders with the skinny people around me.

Getting down on the floor and playing with my grandkids and my kitty.

Sliding into a cafe booth and not having to push the table away.

Knees not aching after just walking around the park.

Playing golf again without my gut getting in the way of my swing.

Having shirts without the obligatory stains right where my gut sticks out(all of my shirts are stained in the same spot)

Going to the Water park and not wearing a t-shirt all day because I'm a fat slob.

Going to Mexico with my wife in November and being able to remove my shirt and not scare small children(although the scars are still a little scary)

Getting rid of some of my meds.

And finally(drum roll) Be able to "Ride the Rockies" 6 stage/day bike riding event next year. Woo Hoo!

I'm in on this one as well!

My "BIG" goal is to run in a Disney Half Marathon (I'm hoping for The Princess Half in February--but that may be too soon)

This is great. Here's what I look forward to:

  1. Wearing my engagement ring every day (not just a few days a month when I'm not bloated)
  2. Not having people glare at me if I sit next to them on the subway
  3. Being able to shop in regular stores
  4. Running around with my kid at the playground for more than 2 minutes
  5. Being able to wear short-sleeved shirts without rolls on my arms :-(
  6. Not having to retake photos with my husband 3-4 times to get one where I look ok
  7. Buying and wearing the same size clothes for more than one season.

Lisa, you can do it now!!! I did a full triathlon with Team in Training a few years ago—you just need to train, and be ok with being slow.

I'm not opposed to the training, but I can't be slow. Disney has a strict 16 minute mile pace requirement for all races and I can't do that yet. I'm not paying to race and getting swept.

Congrats on the Tri! That's amazing!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
