My stomach is still swollen and feels bloated. I'm 5 days post op. I'm worried about what I'll wear to work! Anyone know what helps? When will it go down?

I would say stick to your larger pair of work pants. I wore a tighter pair of work pants and could barely sit to drive, it was horrible! Although it fits over the ass, the belly is a bit bloated still. I'm wondering when the belly starts to unbloat?

You'll have a large degree of swelling and bloating from surgery still.

Stomachs are weird. Having had a flat stomach anyway, or so I thought, after my Tummy Tuck its virtually concave. It looks *almost* six pack-ish. Very impressive. Yet after all those surgeries, and having had a stoma for 9 months, its weaker than its ever been, my core strength is really poor at the moment. Much less endurance and strength than I had when it was fatter and rounder.

I had stomach swelling and bloating for almost 2 weeks after surgery so it's normal, but every person is different. It will go down.

I'm 2 weeks post-op and tummy bloating is getting better but still there. I've been wearing dresses to work. Today I wore pants but unbuttoned them and folded it in, luckily they stayed up with the zipper!

I agree I'm 2 weeks post op & my tummy is super pouchy. I think it's mostly swollen but it is weird. I had a Tummy Tuck years ago after my 2nd child & my tummy was always flatter but now its weird looking. I think it will take awhile to go down. I'm wearing dresses to work as well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
