Daisy0909 2 Posted June 13, 2012 I totally feel the same way. My dr. requires a 2 week Protein Shake diet and I am on day 3. It is awful. I cannot stand the shakes. They make me gag. I was only able to drink one today and it was hard to get down. Does anyone know if it is okay to just not have anything but Water? I don't know if I can drink one more of those things. I left a message for the doctor's office but they haven't called me back yet.
1shauna1 129 Posted June 14, 2012 There's no way you can just drink Water for the rest of the two weeks! You'll have to find something. Maybe another brand of shake?
iammisslinda 10 Posted June 14, 2012 Try the carnation instant Breakfast no sugar added. I didn't think they were too bad
jen_1381 446 Posted June 14, 2012 Please don't drink just Water for two weeks!! Your body needs the nutrients that the drinks provide. I suggest adding some sugar free coffee Syrup to your drink. I used the Body Fortress powder, either vanilla or chocolate peanutbutter, mixed with skim milk, and a splash of sugar free white chocolate or sugar free carmel syrup. honk 780 Posted June 14, 2012 You may like premade shakes better. Premier brand is pretty good 160 cals for 30 g of Protein. Some like Muscle Milk Light (make sure it light, the regular is super high in cals.)
Toddy 758 Posted June 14, 2012 The only pre-made I really like is the Slimfast low carb vanilla. 180 calories, 20 grams of Protein. It was on my surgeon's approved list and I'm still drinking it when I just can't eat.
Daisy0909 2 Posted June 14, 2012 For some reason, my doctor's office only approves Bariatric Advantage and Optifast. I am hoping when they call me back tomorrow they will make some type of compromise. Thanks to everyone for all the support and advice. This site has really helped me, especially the last couple of days!!
honk 780 Posted June 14, 2012 Most doctors require whey isolate Protein Powder, it's a better than whey concentrate. I would write down the nutritional information bring it to Vitamin Shoppe and find another brand whose nut, info. matches and try that one.
