Dr. Ponce Of Chattanooga, Tn & Dalton, Ga

Recommended Posts

Had the seminar today, consult two weeks from today and should have a surgery date within a week of that(since its cash). Am really getting excited!

I was hoping to find some patients of his (I know your out there! Lol) so that I can just hear your experiences with him and the staff. Anything that you think of? Does he require the liquid diet before? I didn't think to ask that today for some reason.

I know he is a great Dr, as he's been doing this a long time and was one of the 20 to do the FDA trials, and his cash price is amazing at $10,999.

Thanks for all your input!

Johnathan

Hey Johnathan, I sent you a message also but saw this post and wanted to answer some of your questions. I had to do the 2 week pre-op diet and it was a Protein Shake 4-5 times a day and thats to shrink the liver. Where are you having the surgery? I had mine at the Hamilton Ambulatory Surgery Center in Dalton and every single one of them are awesome, especially Dr Ponce and Dr Mahvi. The surgery went smoothly with no complications. He is a very experienced doctor and takes great care of his patients. Good luck Johnathan!

Thanks for your email, I'll try to figure out what I want to write back lol. I will have mine in dalton at the surgical center too since I don't have any major medical problems. I'm so excited to start this part of my life! I cant wait to see what a year changes in my life! I've read a lot about him and I think I'm making the right decision to use him!

I'd like some information on this dr. I live in Alabama but I'm looking for a reasonable priced, GOOD surgeon.

Dr. Ponce did my surgery almost 2 years ago, and I have nothing but great things to say about him and his staff.

I had my band put in almost 7 years ago & I believe my band has come unstitched. Does anyone know if either doctor are accepting new patients? It also doesn't help that I have BCBS of Illinois. :/

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
