☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted June 11, 2012 i am 5 days post op, the nurse in hospital told me not to take a bath. how much longer does anyone know??
bbbanded 70 Posted June 11, 2012 I'd hold off on a bath for as long as possible, could possibly infect incisions, since it's only been 5 days, that and I hate baths haha. You should be fine to take a shower at this point. But, don't irritate your incisions just let Water run down that area.
cmoody821 44 Posted June 11, 2012 How were your incisions closed? My doctor uses glue and told me we can swim, bathe, whatever after 5 days.
MemphisFan 18 Posted June 11, 2012 My doctor also used glue and said three weeks.
bbbanded 70 Posted June 11, 2012 At my two week post op appt I asked when I could swim. He said since it had been two weeks I was in the clear to swim. I'd also suggest getting waterproof band aids to shower if you feel so inclined. I have an incision that took forever to heal completely so I bought a box of waterproof b-a's and showered, but becareful changing those too often, I now have a scar the shape of the band aid thats still healing because I changed it too often. waitingpatiently 250 Posted June 11, 2012 I was glued and prefered the bath. I have a deeper tub and wouldn't put too much Water into....kept it low enough not to touch any incisions.
