I clearly see every Dr is different... but why do some Dr's say no bread, but I've heard some ppl on this forum eat bread... how does it not get stuck?? Also, my Dr said no straws for drinks... anyone know why?

My dr. also said no bread! He said it will easily get stuck. He also said no straw because you suck in extra air when drinking with a straw and it will add gas to your belly and you will have disomfort.

I have not been told no bread, not yet anyway-I'm still on liquids BUT I have been told NO STRAWS...as stated above it allows to much air/gas into the body & will cause uncomfy pains.

I have not been told no to any food; my surgeon's office said that everyone is different. I have not had any trouble with any food getting stuck as long and I chew it enough. The amount of these types of food is very little though since they are dense. I have also had no trouble using straws.

My doctor never told me to avoid specific foods. That said bread, crackers, rice, Pasta are nothing but carbs which just turns into sugar in your bloodstream. I can eat bread but due to calories I don't bother. Cheap white bread tends to mush up like paste and I have had stuck episodes with that type of bread.

My doctor said NO to bread but of course I didnt listen and I recently got a fill that has made me a lot more restricted. Well he doesnt have to worry about me eating bread anymore. OMG the pain of being stuck!

My wls nutritionist said white breads and pastas I want to stay away from unless the bread is wheat or toasted.

To be safe I haven't bothered with any Pasta and I did both for the bread. Ive only had toasted wheat bread. Which is fine with me because I've always liked wheat bread. I have gotten a bit stuck eating the bread but that was totally my fault, I decided to try to fit lunch in before I had to leave for work on rather borrowed time, but the food ended up going down.

well.. i think the reason for not using straws is that we gulp wind as well and thats not good. The other thing.. bread. Ive been banded now for just over 2 months. Until the last three days Ive not had anything in the way of bread.. but on my first try yesterday i nearly got stuck. I had to walk away from it.(it was wholemeal bread). I had toasted it. This morning i tried another brand of bread, toasted ... it was wholemeal. i ate very small portions and chewed for ages. Even doing that the band was protesting and it still feels like a huge lump over an hour later. So, as far as im concerned, no bread. Im not sure why its such a hard food to eat. i know that i wont be bothering with it anymore.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
