Question???

they have whey Protein shots(made by body Fortress). It has 26g protien per serving they come in fruit punch flavor you down them like a shots(2oz) or you can mix them with your crystal light or whatever .

the reviews say they don't taste the greatest but they aren't gross either. They come in little viles that you can keep with you( kind of like the 5hr energy bottles but they are just protein packs) I thought that was a lot of protien and pretty easy to keep with you everyday after you have surgery. I saw a lot of people were having a few problems geting all thier protien in while they are healing. Has anyone tried them before? if so what did you think ?

I haven't had my surgery yet but I know I have a very weak stomach I have been trying different protien shakes but I haven't like any of the high protien ct shakes so I was thinkIng I can supplement with the shots I can gulp it down and it will stay but if I try to drink the shakes. I know it won't. so i'm just planning ahead. I didn't like the crystal light suggestion either it was in a review. I think I would just like to gulp it down I know if you don't get enough your hair will thin. Is the bullet made by the same company ? I'm going to look it up

Omg I am so gonna try these bullets. I loathe all of the Protein Shakes I have tried and it is a struggle not to gag while I drink them. I don't think I would mind little shots of Protein though. So glad I saw this!

I use the New Whey Protein shots 42 grams in 3.8 oz. Walmart sells them. I find that they are good mixed with crystal light. I will also blenderize ice and pour the protein/crystalight mixture over top....makes for a great slushy.

I do find that the powder Proteins hold off hungar longer. Thats probaly because most of the shots have collagen in them....My doctor didn't want me to use them for pre-op but was ok with them after surgery (week 4) because I would be getting Protein in through real food.

My doctor prefers whey isolate which is a higher quality Protein. The shots are whey but not isolate. I found they gave me horrible gas and seemed to go through me like a blow torch.

I was wondering what the difference was so collagen is not the best but isolated Protein. good to know

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
