alexa_nj01 18 Posted June 11, 2012 I am so excited everything is coming so fast, all these test and clearance are coming to the end now. I will be having final pre-op testing this coming Saturday and final visit with surgeon next week. My pre-op diet starts on June 25th (only one week for me luckily) and the big day is scheduled to be on July 3rd; however I still have not received the magic call (to let me know I am approved by insurance BCBS NJ) but hoping to get it soon. I would like to know from your experience about the pre-op diet, if you guys did only shakes/ liquids or how your diet looks like?? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks!! Tsign36 37 Posted June 11, 2012 You both are lucky... my Dr won't let us schedule anything until the insurance approves it... so I can't get a head start on the pre op diet or anything... just sitting and waiting..... Good luck to you both!
slp640 12 Posted June 11, 2012 I started my preop diet today. Mine is to drink a Protein Shake for Breakfast and a snack. Then have a half portion lunch and dinner. I am suppose to stay away from carbs and starches. I am going to try to do only the half portion for dinner and halve my Protein shake for lunch. I feel the more I can lose before surgery the safer my liver will be. Wish me luck! By the way my diet is 2 weeks.
