Help Im Hungry

Recommended Posts

I am new to the band. Had surgery 5/23. For 2 weeks I was on clear liquid diet. 2 days ago I was asked by my doctor to start another 2 weeks liquid. I was told to eat farina, cream of wheat, plain non fat yogurt, sugar free pudding and Popsicles. I feel hungry, very hungry. Is there nothing else I can eat? Please advice?

PS

, I also drink 54 grams of Protein with skim milk plus each day.

If that's all you're eating, no wonder as it doesn't look like you're getting any protein! Can you add in some Protein Drinks? It might help. Why do you have to do more liquids? By this point most people are at least into the mushy stage....hope all is well!

I was on liquids two weeks after surgery, then to mushies or soft foods.

Scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, oatmeal, Soups, broth, sugar free Jello, refried Beans, fish, cheese sticks and applesauce besides they things you mentioned. There are probably more but that is all I can think of now.

Are you drinking Protein Shakes? Proteins helps you feel full longer.

I still have a Protein Shake every morning on my drive to work.

Good luck to you.

I think everybody's wanting to know why you had to go back and liquids that's very concerning... please advise thanks and we wish you well! I had surgery on 529 and I was pretty near perfect for the first 7 to 10 days but then I would crush on a little something and just to it and show it was Water and then swallow it... I couldn't really see how it was any different than a creamy chicken Soup or cottage cheese or cream of wheat.... luckily I had no vomiting no pain no nothing and I'm getting enough Protein and I'm say she did but I have to admit and I'll sit here... I have not been perfect perfect. I have lost 12 pounds since 529. My only concern would be that my tummy swell and the band director something but everything feels just right. I hope I'm okay and don't want to do you have the band adjusted.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
