BreBre 6 Posted June 11, 2012 I'm 3 days post op and I have horrible cottonmouth. I drink Water all day, so I don't think I'm dehydrated. What else could it be? I'm also having trouble taking deep breaths. Is this normal?
pink dahlia 2,513 Posted June 11, 2012 i had horrible cottonmouth for the first day, ( banded Dec 13th, 2011) its because of the anestheisia. i found sucking on lifesavers or a hard peppermint put moisture back in my mouth. Just dont CHEW it as you dont want anything hard going down. just drink as much liquids as you can. Try Propel, Gatorade light, Decaf tea, etc. As far as the deep breaths, i dont know. i would call your Dr asap, just to be safe and set your mind at ease. The first 10 days i felt like i had a badly pulled muscle on my left side, other than that i felt fine. hope this helps ! Good luck ! You'll be so glad you did this ! jeani81 93 Posted June 11, 2012 This is normal. You just have to continue drinking Water or even suck on a Popsicle. As for the breathing I was the same way, I had this little breathing thing that I got right after surgery and that helped me. If I was you I'd take deep breaths and hold them to the count of 5 and do it a couple times an hour and that feeling will go away.
