how often do you experience pain?

Recommended Posts

I seems like even b4 my current problem, I experience pain due to eating almost on a daily basis. I am chewing and eating slow but still am having problems. (swallow test was normal today and band is in correct position)

IS there anyone else out there that experiences pain often. My kids even say we know when it happens mom because we can tell by the look on your face!

What kind of foods are you eating... I know sometimes when I eat bread or beef.. like steak, roast... I get a stuck feeling... then again maybe my bites are to big... make sure you are taking very small bites and chewing very very well.

I am new to the site. I have the same problems. I was banded 4/17/2005. It really does not matter what I eat, plain non-fat yogurt to chicken, fish. I have found that it depends upon the time of day, sometimes. In the morning my stomach is bloated, like pms bloating. I have to stick to protien shakes until after being awake and moving around a couple of hours. It makes it hard to get in enough protien. Other times I have problems in the evening. I think this is related to wanting to eat too fast. 3 bites into my meal and I am wishing I hadn't started. I push away my food and hope I do not get sick. Last last couple of times, it was almost spontanious. Yikes! I sure am putting my boyfreind through the wringer.

At the Seattle Bandster Bash, the docs there suggested that people who feel pain are sometimes irritated from meals that did not go smoothly the last time they ate.

Some foods, like dryer meats, need some kind of sauce or lubricant. Better yet, since you don't eat much, buy the best possible cuts which are more moist.

I have found, esp. in the mornings, that if I drink something hot first, I don't have that 'first bite' syndrome....
