How Many Fill Till Green Zone

Recommended Posts

At that calorie level I am concerned you are not geting sufficient nutrition. Are you getting 3 oz of mushie Protein per meal? Are you also having mushie veggies or smooth Soups? I don't know of any doctors who give fills at 2 weeks more like 4-6. If you have not yet done so get a digital food scale. Makes weighing out your Protein so much easier.

For Breakfast I recommend Greek yogurt which is higher in protein. Protein is what helps keep you full longer. You can use a hand blender if you want to mince up the fruit. During healing I just ate the yogurt. Now that I am able to eat solids I add half a scoop of vanilla Protein powder, unflavored benefiber, splendra (Greek Yogurt is sour), 1/3 cup high protein Kashi Go Lean, couple walnuts (yes they have fat but it's a good fat and doctor recommended. And they add protein.).

I must agree here. For Breakfast I have some greek yogurt, for lunch I have a little tuna with cottage cheese and for dinner it just depends...I'm consuming 800-1200 calories. so far so good.

I had lap band surgery on April 9th and my first fill *3 ccs* on June 6th. I have some restriction now. My doctor said it takes at least 2 and usually 3 fills before you are in the zone. However, my doctor is fairly conservatve . . . I had to wait 8 weeks for my first fill and he will not do my second fill until 8 more weeks. He will only put 3 ccs in at a time. I know some doctors start with 4 or 5. It took me many years to gain this weight so I am trying to have some patience on losing . . . down 31 pounds since April 1st (includes pre-surgery diet). Good Luck ~

Soccerblue, I think you mean .3 cc's and .4 or .5. 3 cc's is huge. Our bands only hold up to 14 cc's. In fact, there's a effort now to have the term "CC" removed and replaced with MM's. Too many doctors scribble 3 cc's and the nurse or pharmacist reads it as 300. The physician's bad handrwriting can make the cc look like 00. Dennis Quaid's twins almost died due to such an error.

I have been banded since May 16th.I got my first fill at 3 weeks post op!!!!I have a littl restriction but not much.I found a new Protein that I live by daily to help get all my protein. Its sold at Walmart. Its called New Whey protein shots!! It comes in watermelon, grape or acai berry. Its 3.8 oz of 42g of protein!!!A LIFE saver! I ran across my doctor and he said its find actually perfect because u amly have to worry about getting in the diffrence of 60 g of protein after the protein shot and its completely ISOLATE protein!!!!I makes me not hungry and it gives me a big jolt of protein all at once. Highly recommend this and they cost 2.48.I drink one a day usually in the am wene im not as hungry and it curves my hunger the rest of the day!!!

at my 3rd fill i hit the green zone for about 12 days, then it was back to being hungry. Sigh............ the tech said "this happens sometimes, the saline settles in the nooks and crannys of the band". So i had a 4th , and then a 5th, and nothing........... then i had my 6th fill a week ago on june 4th, and whoa nellie ! I hit the Green Zone and i hope i stay there ! i eat small amounts and im full , The weights starting to come off and ive lost 4 lbs since last monday . Its finally working , and im down 42 lbs total since last December ! Give it time , it will happen for you too. Its very important to keep a daily food and exercise log. Try Myfitnesspal.com or keep a homeade log. Good luck !

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
