banditalovely 25 Posted June 9, 2012 I have read online and seen on youtube people who claim msm has helped them a lot with sagging skin and stretch marks. Has anyone here tried the soaps or lotions or made there own from the powder? Anyone ingest tablets or powder? Notice a difference? Is it worth it? It isn't particularly expensive. I would love to know your thoughts.
Karen12345 61 Posted June 10, 2012 I read that exfoliating the skin (I got those scrubbing mits at Walgreens) and soaking regularly in salt baths helps. Also getting all of your Protein is the best way. My skin was great the first 120 lbs lost but by the time I lost 170', it was a mess. I don't know how old you are or how much you have to lose... Ilene62 0 Posted June 27, 2012 I've been taking MSM regularly for years for joint stiffness. I have osteoarthritis and it seems to help a little for that. It's good for many things that involve connective tissue, like skin. If you're young enough, exercise will help tighten the skin. However, my skin has been sagging more and more as I age and at some point nothing short of surgery helps, especially if there's been a lot of weight loss. I'm currently saving for bracheoplasty, which I think is the least expensive procedure. The band has been great and I'll never regret doing it, but I haven't worn short sleeves or a bathing suit in years. When the excess skin situation gets severe, I don't think that MSN is going to make much difference.
