apappas02 11 Posted June 6, 2012 Was told I have to do a two week pre-op diet starting Saturday. I bought some Protein stuff and it's plain awful. Any other options?! Thanks.
waitingpatiently 250 Posted June 6, 2012 I gave up trying to find a Protein power I love and went to doing stuff to cover up the taste. I have fell in love with the SF syrups.< /p> A good generic recipe I use is 1 container of carbmaster vanilla yogurt 2 oz Almond milk 2 oz SF Syrup 1 scoop Protein power I change out the Syrups to make different concoctions example: 1oz pineapple, 1 oz coconut you have a pine a coloda 1oz french vanilla, 1 oz orange-tastes like a dreamsicle Sub the yogurt for 3 oz of your favorite coffee + 1oz carmel+ 1oz vanilla blenderize with lots of ice and its a starbucks iceed coffee If you want it thicker (like a milk shake) put the yogurt in the freezer for a little while
1shauna1 129 Posted June 6, 2012 What kind of diet is it? If it's liquid, that does suck. Try another Protein Shake because you need to get the Protein. You can also eat Soups, popsicles, Jello, etc. I had to do a healthy diet for a week so I think I got lucky!
apappas02 11 Posted June 6, 2012 Thanks for all of the advice! I am taking Bariatric Advantage shakes but am wondering if I can just do Isopure because it's pretty good. And yes, it's all liquid but I am assuming I can like you said have the ice pops and Jello.< /p>
Bree Price 14 Posted June 7, 2012 What syrups are you talking about? Is it the flavors to make hard candy
honk 780 Posted June 7, 2012 Look in the coffee isle many stores have sugar free syrups for coffee. Make sure it's sugar free though otherwise the cal. level is through the roof. Another way to help Protein shakes is sugar/fat free pudding powder. I used to take fat free milk and make milk "ice cubes" . When you mix the shake with a blender it gives the shake a nice icey thick texture.

Kdubb 1 Posted June 9, 2012 I had my dietician and Surgeon check the Protein shakes I was taking and was told they were acceptable. Have yours check them as well. Myoplex Lite is a really good Protein shake, they come in a slew of different flavors. The dark chocolate and fudge are my favorite. Make sure it is the Lite version though, so the sugar is low. They carry the powders you mix with Water (no bad soy taste) or they have premade mixed drinks you can get from like sams Club or costco.
