pbmls223 10 Posted June 6, 2012 I have costochondritis and it has been flaring up the last few days and the best way to get rid of it is by taking motrin. Which I can't because I am only two weeks out from my surgery. Ugh. It's a frustrating feeling because it square in the middle of my chest which then makes me think it could be band related, which it's not. Not fun.
Toddy 758 Posted June 6, 2012 I understand why you can't take Motrin pre-surgery. But you may want to check with your doctor about post-surgery, too. I was told no more ibuprofen or aspirin EVER! The only thing my doctor approves of is Tylenol, and that's never done a thing for me!! Giving up ibuprofen was tougher than most of the foods I've given up!! pbmls223 10 Posted June 6, 2012 Yeah, as of right now, no more Motrin. I was with my NP yesterday and she said no motrin. It's frustrustrating because the only way to get the inflammation down is Motrin and I can't do that because of the band surgery......vicious cycle.......
