I have costochondritis and it has been flaring up the last few days and the best way to get rid of it is by taking motrin. Which I can't because I am only two weeks out from my surgery. Ugh. It's a frustrating feeling because it square in the middle of my chest which then makes me think it could be band related, which it's not.

Not fun.

I understand why you can't take Motrin pre-surgery. But you may want to check with your doctor about post-surgery, too. I was told no more ibuprofen or aspirin EVER! The only thing my doctor approves of is Tylenol, and that's never done a thing for me!! Giving up ibuprofen was tougher than most of the foods I've given up!!

Yeah, as of right now, no more Motrin. I was with my NP yesterday and she said no motrin. It's frustrustrating because the only way to get the inflammation down is Motrin and I can't do that because of the band surgery......vicious cycle.......
