Hello everyone

I have called my dr to let him know that I want to do the lap band. Not sure but I am tired of being 202lbs. My goal weight is not that bad for my heigh and weight. Not trying to be to skinny like a size zero. I would love to be 150 not just looking good but feeling good about how I look when I look inn the mirrow. I lost before but it came back fast after I broke my leg. My husband will be supportive but he also have to work and I have two little ones at home. I do not know how this is going to turn out for me and I hope that my down time will not be long and hope that it could be done on a Friday and I can recover over the weekend and I have good neighbors that can help me with the kids. I hate depending on someone I am not a good patient.

So I will need some support to go through with this and to easy my mind.

Thank you

King-tasha you have support here sounds like your plate is pretty full all the more reason to get healthy you will have to rely on friends family & maybe some close nieghbors(swallow. Your pride & let them help) but reward them when you feel up too it maybe a meal or babysit for date night but this must be done sounds like you have some really special people that depend on you daily and they need you strong and ready to go the distance I know you can do this

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
