SageTracey 608 Posted June 6, 2012 Your surgeon should have given you anti-nausea meds as it is important that you don't vomit at this time. Feeling nauseous and having a sore throat are normal after a general, so, unless there are more symptoms that you haven't mentioned, you are probably feeling quite normal. - hope that makes you feel better! Stay in close touch with your medical team but also be assured that you will feel better with each passing day.
Bamabander 111 Posted June 6, 2012 I had a bad reaction too... My doc put a patch behind my war and ordered phenigran and zofran. I felt much better the next day and no problems since. Are you at home or in the hospital? Hope you feel better soon.

Sojourner 2,446 Posted June 6, 2012 Definitely stay in communication with your surgeon's office. They should have given you a prescription for nausea, and an anti-emetic. It's very important for you to stay properly hydrated, otherwise the nausea could become a symptom for dehydration. A sore throat following general anesthesia is normal, as you had a tube there during the surgery. You will feel better with every day that passes...but don't risk becoming dehydrated. Let your surgeon know what is happening with you. Best wishes to feel better fast...
