Can't Keep Water Down

That's b.s. If you can't even keep Water down you need a slight unfill. You could become dehydrated. Can you swallow your own spit? If not, you should call and get an urgent unfill.

Hope you feel better soon. The nurse should never have left you hanging like that.

Sue

I'd say you were a little tight. Nothing more uncomfortable than not being able to swallow your own saliva if you keep spitting up saliva. I wouldn't suffer through the night, I'd be right in getting some taken out.

Yes, I've been there....but didn't leave the office without getting some of it taken out. Probably now you'll have to wait anyways, but next time, I wouldn't leave feeling that way! Hope you can get back in tomorrow if you need to!

So it's really not going to get better on it's own.....I thought maybe it was a little swollen at first.....and I did have a really big meal right before I had it tightened.

Having a big meal before your fill prob doesn't affect anything. I'm sure all the food had passed through the pouch. My dr makes me drink Water before I leave, any gurgling and she is in a hurry to remove it!

This freaked me out at first, but my doctor makes me sit up, while the needle is still in, and drink Water. If it has any trouble going down, he can withdraw some Fluid right then. He's not going to let anybody leave his office that can't keep water down!

Go get some taken out ASAP. I waited a week and I wasn't even getting Water down let alone food. This can really be unhealthy. Granted the weight loss was wonderful but not at the expense of my health.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
