Hello all Bandsters, i'm probably asking a dumb question but how does it feel having the band inside of you????

Still waiting for my surgery date ;)

My nurse who has recently been banded told me that the first two days, she could feel a tightness around her stomach. She states that she could feel it, along with her friend...but it's temporary.

I don't feel anything (except I can feel my port if i touch where it is located) Other then that, you can't feel it inside you.

It's hard to describe. I'm about a month out of surgery and can't feel the band in there most of the time. When I drink though, I can definitely feel the path of the liquids as it goes through my body though. Something I never felt before banding.

I can feel absolutely nothing at all but my port. If I don't chew well, I get pain in my chest, otherwise, I'd never know there was a band in there.

I don't think I have ever felt the actual band...but like others have said....ican sometimes feel my food slow down as I eat and swallow. As for the port...I am able to feel it when I touch it. It is about the size of a half an egg. The only time it causes any discomfort is when I where certain pants (jeans) that cross over top of it...I will sometimes get a little sore by the end of the day. But other than that i wouldn't know I even had a band.

I'm about 3 weeks post op and I've never felt the band. The port, yes. It's on my right side, and I sleep on my right side, so in the mornings it can be a little sore. Nothing major, just if I push on it :) I may start feeling it once I move past mushies, but for right now I don't even feel it when I drink. Of course, it's empty still too.

Its no big deal, if i run my hand over my stomach i can feel it if i press down a bit. its about the size of a quarter, hard, just below my ribcage. Most of my weight has come off my tummy area, (38 lbs !) so its easier to find now. Im so happy with my weight loss so far , i dont even care that there's a port in my side.

I can sort of feel the band...it's like there is a bit of tightness on my left hand side, near the base of my ribcage. The port is easy to find, it is that hard lump just to the upper left of my belly button. I can feel it easily when I lie down. I can really feel the band, if I eat too much or too fast (I get an ache on my left hand side).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
