ktmoss 0 Posted June 5, 2012 The tighter your band gets, is it easier to get stuck?? I got stuck on everything for 3 weeks after my last fill and I'm afraid to go for another fill...just can't get this chew, chew, chewing down! I blame it on my adhd...I can't just sit down and eat, I have to be working, on the computer, watching tv, talking, etc.
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted June 5, 2012 Yes, because it's a small space for the food to pass through. I don't mean this to sound harsh, only honest, but if you don't slow down chew thoroughly, you will get stuck. Chewing like crazy and eating slow is part of being banded and working with the band. If you need another fill (or more) and don't get it for fear of eating too fast and getting stuck because of it, it's highly unlikely you'll do well losing weight because you'll be able to eat too much. I mean, there is no purpose in having the band without restriction. Perhaps a med to treat the a ADHD is in order?
pink dahlia 2,513 Posted June 5, 2012 this may sound like a ridiculous idea............. but if you're ADHD and have to be "doing something " while you eat, have you considered going to the Sporting Goods store and getting your self a little clicker thing ? Umpires use them to keep score, so do golfers. You could "click" everytime you chew and then would be able to keep track of your chewing and also be "doing something" as you eat. Just a thought ! Helmut 9 Posted June 5, 2012 I would get this issue nailed down before you go any further with fills. I have the same issue of eating while doing other stuff but no ADHD. I just like activity. If i find i am eating to fast i just stop eating for a bit. That seems to help. If you cant manage that then try smaller bites. My doc says about the size of my thumb nail for each bite. SageTracey 608 Posted June 5, 2012 If you are getting stuck on everything for the last three weeks then you don't need another fill. It may be that you are too tight. Even if it is only eating too fast, then you need to get that under control before adding more fill. Good luck.
ktmoss 0 Posted June 7, 2012 Thanks for all your responses =) Im on adderral just started it back up this week, can't really tell a difference yet. I like the clicker idea, lol. Except everyone would probably want to kill me, I can see that being very annoying! Its been 6 weeks since my last fill, I think...and it was the first 3 weeks that I threw everything up or pb'ing (not exactly sure what "pb"stands for but I know it's what I do, haa) so since then it hasn't been to bad but I'd say I get stuck 3 to 5 times a week...but most of that was bread and I know I need to just give it up. I'm at the doc now so I will tell her what's been going on and see what she says! Thanks again! ; )
