Oh No!!! What Do I Do?? Please Help!

Recommended Posts

Had surgery 5/29. Still on full liquids. I can have any blended Soup so I made homemade veg beef. The roast was done and cooled and as I pulled it apart I mindlessly ate 2 shreds... Ya know how when beef roast falls apart they make shreds... Well I ate 2 at the same time and really didn't chew well. I was tasting it like always to see what spices I need to add. What should I expect. Will I be ok? Do I need to call the doc? I'm very worried!!

I think your tummy will tell you if you need to call the doctor or not. I would definitely push fluids though to make sure the roast beef gets through the band and swelling okay. We had surgery the same day, so I'm no expert!

Ok so far so good... I'm waiting and drinking lots of Water. I hope I didn't hurt anything. I'm feeling so much better I completely forgot... I know that sounds weird, old habits will be harder to break than I expected

I dont know how the sleeve works versus the band, but I would think by now, if you were going to have an issue you would have had it. its been 20 minutes since you posted, so you gotta be good to go by now!

Glad you are feeling so good! I never thought about munching and cooking. I will have to look out for that old habit too!

Im banded with plication. When I started I thought I was going to get the sleeve but my insurance requires a bmi of 50 for sleeve. So I had to choose between bypass and band... Bypass scares me!

I really am glad that I have the band. I feel so much better today, maybe tired still but much better on the pain. Thanks for responding!

Good luck bama. It sounds like you're fine now. Totally true about old habits!

If you have any papaya enzyme or pinaple juice I would take them to try and digest the meat. At this point it is very bad for you stomach to grind to digest solids.

Do not worry about it any more. If it got stuck you would know it so you will be just fine! Also,if you had something stuck and started drinking Water, that is not so great as the water will just come back up.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
