K6TYX 8 Posted June 3, 2012 Hi hope someone can clear this up i.m confused... the 2 week post op says Clear Liquids but in my book it says for lunch i can have hearty Soup blended. Is Heinz veg soup and the likes ok blended up or does it mean cup a Soups? TIA
Daddyof4 95 Posted June 3, 2012 Hi K6TYX - I was told to do full liquid for two weeks post-op, not clear liquids - you should check with your doctor. Full liquid includes anything that acts like a liquid inside your body like cream of wheat, sugar free Gelatin, sugar free low fat vanilla pudding and cream of chicken Soup put through the blender to get rid of the large chunks of chicken. If your doctor's office says liquid is ok I see no reason why you couldn't put the vegetable soup through the blender and then drink it. I did that with black bean soup (not recommended for its side effects but tasted good). The variety helped me get through the liquid stage. Good luck! Toddy 758 Posted June 3, 2012 I would say most any Soup that can be blended into a puree would be fine. If it makes reference to a cup of soup, I would say they're talking about quantity. 1 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this

honk 780 Posted June 3, 2012 Please speak with you doctor. I was on clear liquids (though I could have Protein shakes) for 7 days, stock and Jello. Second week I could have full liquids that included smooth Soups like Tomato (Pacific brand tomato/sweet red pepper is excellent.), or squash. Based on that a blended veggie Soup would probably be fine (Be sure to blend though don't just chew).
