I drink plenty of Water - hot with a teabag and a splash of fat free milk. Other than that it has to be a really hot day for me to drink plain water. What the reminder should be is drink your Fluid. So long as the drink as low cal it doesn't have to be plain water. That is a myth that has now been debunked.

My doctor said Fluid is fluid, just get enough.

She also said try to stay away from caffeine.

Since no soda and I don't drink coffee, I have really cut back but I still have a glass or two of ice tea everyday.

That's a great reminder!

It's very important to stay hydrated, otherwise you may end up in the ER like I did without recognizing the symptoms of severe dehydration, the most prominent being nausea.

I focus on what my doctor has called "free fluids"...any SF and FF Fluid will count, from popsicles, Crystal Lite, to tea and Water. I was also advised to avoid caffeine..., but I have returned to having my daily glass of iced coffee in the morning.

I also always carry at least 1 bottle of Water with me, and sip constantly. I usually have around 80oz a day. I enjoy a flavored water which is carb and calorie free in several flavors, but I also like the plain water in certain brands.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
