bandedtobegood 6 Posted June 3, 2012 Has anyone experienced this or heard of it? 2 weeks post-op When i lay down regardless off time of day/evening, and regardless of what time i last ate, i begin experiencing tightness in chest followed by burning sensation in neck and eardrums, then massive headace and finnaly urge to purge...as soon as i sit up everthing goes back to normal. But i can only sleep propped up or in a chair. Any thoughts?
elcee 3,341 Posted June 3, 2012 You are probably eating too close to bed time. You need to leave sufficient time for your food to go down. This sounds like bad reflux.

bandedtobegood 6 Posted June 21, 2012 So for those interested, i finally got an answer to the mystery..turns out one of the nerves in same spot as band is the vega nerve. Mine is apparently more sensitive than normal. This actually explains alot about my past history of passing out for no reason also. When stimulated the vega nerve can cause reduced blood pressure, sometimes severe, thus the resulting nausea, headache ect in me now. Good part is this symptom has gradually lessoned an dr says as my vega nerve adapts should go away entirely. Enjoy
