Calorie Free/low Cal Liquids

Recommended Posts

I am wondering what you guys are doing for cal free or low cal liquids? I have been drinking lots of Water, but am not liking crystal light, Gatorade low cal or Powerade zero (my nutritionist suggested those).

Has anyone tried Trop A Rocka Diet Snapple? I am not sure if its ok for me to drink, but it's 10 cals per bottle and low carb.

Snapple's Diet drinks are listed on my Pre and Post Op diet, but I haven't tried them yet. I also like Propel Zero Grape, strawberry Kiwi, and Lemondade.

I drink quite a bit of iced tea with sweet n low. I don't like the pre-made teas because they taste spoiled to me. I fill a 2 qt. picher about 2/3 with Water and heat it up in the micrwave. I let 4 teabags steep in it for a couple hours. Then I fill the rest with ice and 5-6 packets of sweet n low. I'm very picky about brand of teabags...... Lipton tastes the best to me. (not the ones made for iced tea or "diet", just regular Lipton tea bags) Very tasty and refreshing :)

Water (of course), tea, Pero, Honest, and Brain Toniq are my favourites. I mainly drink water, but sometimes you have to have some flavour!

The more you stay hydrated, the better equipped your body is to function at peak performance...and, frankly, if I keep drinking I feel fuller and am less tempted to snack. ;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
