Anyone Getting Banded In July?

Recommended Posts

Hey I on the 17th as well !!!! Yeah !!! 5 more days ... I am NERVOUS !!!!

I hear ya, I had my last shift at work and now I'm just getting ready.....shopping for all that I need so I don't have to do anything but heal! lol Cleaning ahead, laundry ahead of time...How's the pre-op diet going? Today is the 1st day I'm hungry for food, but it's probably because I'm actually sitting still...I'm nervous too, if I think about the actual surgery itself, so I'm just going to preoccupy my mind with things to do! :)

I'm on the 25th as well. Im not required to do the 2 week of liquids, though I may do it the week before anyway. Good luck to everybody , I can't wait till I'm on the flipside of this procedure. The anticipation is the worst part :) the pre op life style change has been great though, lost 24 pounds on my own since February . Just by really clean eating & eliminating anything processed. Have a great weekend guys...

What I would do for a turkey burger or turkey hot dog, lol. Man, I want some beef or chicken, might have to have something to get rid of this "want"...Staying busy is the only way to get thru this and make it Tuesday already! lol I'm waiting on my Prescriptions as we speak for surgery and then hitting Walmart for my list of needs, maybe splurg and buy some 45 calorie turkey dogs! I totally understand how nervous you are, it's nice to have people that really understand! Hope you have a good day! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
