hunnybee11 3 Posted June 1, 2012 Hi Everyone, For the first time I feel like I'm hitting a plateau. I've lost about 30 lbs (including weight lost in pre-op) and I'm just getting discouraged. I need to keep up my motivation and believe in myself. I've recently started using my fitness pal and I'm trying to track my food to get a better picture of what I'm eating. I stay around 1200 calories, I'm getting enough Protein, but I know I need to clean up some of my choices. I still have a sweet tooth and need to avoid those foods. Also, I'm trying to exercise more, just by walking and bike riding a little bit. It just feels like it's not enough. I think I will also opt for a small fill in two weeks. I have 5.5 ccs in a 10 cc band. March Bandsters, how are you all doing? Thoughts? Advice? I'm proud of what I've done, but it seems like I've only lost about 5 lbs the last month. Thanks peeps, I appreciate it! Starting weight 236 size 20 Current weight 207 size 16/
lawgirl 6 Posted June 1, 2012 I hit my plateau at the beginning of this year (actually started going up the mountain again!) and got another fill. With the additional fill, I've dropped about twenty more pounds and another dress size. But it has taken a while to adjust to the new tightness - it's like I just got banded and have to relearn to be nice to my band again. 2 #MagicWithinme and 2muchfun reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted June 1, 2012 Considering your food choices, 5 lbs is incredible. Sweets will cause your body to retain Water as well as add fat if you eat too much? You can only expect to lose 4-8 lbs a month with the band. In the first few months most of the weight lost is fluids. After that if you can lose 4-6 lbs a month you are doing wonderful. Do you count the sweet calories in your 1200/day? If you're getting lots of calories from sweets you aren't giving your body fuel to work out or lose with. tmf

I did exercise biking and strength as my main exercises and eat around 1000calories a day cycling burned around 500 to 600 intially so get moving more i am sure u will get some more weight off soon

honk 780 Posted June 1, 2012 Please remember doctors' say you can loose 4 to 8 pounds a month. So 5 pounds is well within that range. How often are you eating sweets? Once a month or once a day?
