My Skin Is Stuck To My Port!

Recommended Posts

I am at my goal weight and have been for several years. It's normal for my port to stick out just a tad because I have very little fat on my midsection. I always tend to have a slightly darker skin tone on top of my port, but now it's darker and surrounded by redness. It appears that the darker part of my skin has attached or grown on to my port! I can move the rest of my skin, but not the darker area. If I move a certain way in bed, or touch the dark area at just the right place I feel a burning sensation! I am thinking that the burning is caused by the attached skin being slightly pulled away from the port! I am a teacher and school is about to be out, so I will be seeing the doctor soon. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how it remedied. I am not having any signs of complications with my band. It is strictly my port.

Hey, I've been banded for a year and I've never experienced this. Right after my surgery, my port stuck out quite a bit. The doc told me it would go down after it settled against the muscle and it did. I've lost 60 lbs and I have no burning or anything like that, however, my skin is darker right at the port site. I suggest seeing your doc pretty soon. Hope all will be well.

sometimes scar tissue can be a bit darker sometimes but redness and burning is not a good sign please see your doctor before school lets out for the summer break.

Some infections at the band site show through port problems. Please see your Dr just in case something is wrong.
