I go for my follow up tomm. But wanted to know if anyone had the same. I still can't get up or sit down without pain. And I can not eat all the liquids suggested .

Day 6 or 7 was my worst days, fortunately better days were right around the corner. I still cannot sleep reaaly comfortably on my left side. I called the doc also and was told it was just gas pains.

The side with the port did hurt the longest. Not sure if I would call it extreme pain though. I do have a pretty high pain tolerance though and only used tylenol after leaving the hospital.

I had horrible pain when I tried to sit up or move after my surgery. It is how they secured my port according to the surgeon. It should go away in a few days, however still now if I strain myself, or am dehydrated in any way I will get a charlie horse in that area of my abdomen. I don't know if this is common but it is like when you get one in your calf due to dehydration or needing potassium. I have found up the Water intake.. get some potassium down.. and I apply a heating pad to make it feel better.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
