My left arm is healing AWESOME, however my right arm the scar is not healing as well - thicker scar. I am massaging them and putting the lotion on. Pain is not in the arms, just my abdomen.

Mine was the same except its my left arm scar which is slightly thicker than my right arm, i think we would be very lucky if both scars ended up exactly the same, just keep doing what u are doing it can take months and months of work on the scar to see results ..

Hang in there, and keep looking at your before pics ...

I took off 6 weeks (but I had 3 procedures - Tummy Tuck, back lift and the brachioplasty).

How much time is recommended for brachioplasty only?

Not quite sure, but probably two weeks. Depending on the type of work you do.

Hi SVM

The brachiplasty was the easiest operation for me to recover. Even easier then the lap band.

My operation was pretty straightforward....no drains, etc.

I'd say 10 days would be a good amount of time. My operation was on a Wednesday. I would've been able to go back after 1 1/2 weeks. I don't work anymore but I was doing pretty heavy housework within 1 week.

Good luck in your Quest

Josie

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
