For the last couple of days, I have been having similar pains to the ones you describe. Also very gurgley/gassy.

I would write it off to a regular stomach ailment and let it run its course, except I had a fill about a week ago, and am now wondering if I am too tight. I've been too tight before, and had an unfill. This does not feel like that. No heartburn/coughing to speak of.

Just general stomach ache. Sometimes, the pain radiates up into the center of my chest.

I'm a man, so it is obviously not pregnency related :)

Anyone have any similar pains. I'm hoping my band is not slipped....although, while uncomfortable. I am able to keep food down.

I guess I am going to wait a few more days to see if the pain subsides and then go to my DR. if I still have problems.

Any thoughts?

thanks

I has this problem before I got my band. It was very hard to pin point where the pain was or even describe it. I would feel like I had to go to the bathroom but could not and the pain would move from my front to my back and was anywhere between my chest to my lower stomach. It was consistent with gall bladder or kidney stones but it was not either. The dr. finally tested me for a virus in the intestines called H. Pylori. They put me on antibiotics and I did not have the pain anymore. (I had dealt with the pain for almost a year) might be just one more thing to possibly consider.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
