When Do Most Get Chicken Again?

Recommended Posts

It's wondering what different docs recommend. Mine says 7-8 weeks. I so miss my chicken breast. I was a healthy eater prior to Lapband surgery just didn't control portions well and was always hungry. I ate a lot of raw veggies and fresh fruit. I am so missing those things too but at least I can have canned fruit with no added sugar now.

I still can't eat chicken breast, I can eat canned chicken if I add cottage cheese or FF mayo.< /p>

I would love a few bites of chicken with lemon pepper...oh well. I can eat small bites of steak or pork chop,,,but no roast beef or ham.. who knows why. We all are different and will find what works for us. Good Luck

I could have chicken when I went on solids. After a few fills, white meat chicken was off my menu. I can still eat dark meat.

I hear soooo many different things from different people. I have read another person cannot eat any red meat now, it's too difficult, but poultry is fine for her.

Ah chicken....I miss you most days. I often go for the dark meat now as it's more moist.

Dark meat for me unless i doctor white meat with some kind of lubricant like low fat/calorie miracle whip or mayo in a chicken salad.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
