Mocha Frappe

Recommended Posts

Of all the things I thought I would miss; it was Frappes.

I have avoided Starbucks, as I no longer eat sugar.

Made a great Protein Frappe today. REALLY YUMMY.......

3/4 Cup strong coffee

2 T. instant milk

2 packages of Equal

2 scoops of Injury Protein Mix ...could use 1 scoop and drop 20 Pro & 100 cal.

ICE.....

With Pro. & instant milk....I figure about 45 grams of Protein and around 220 calories.

It was so worth it....

I have found that there is no Protein power that I REALLY like. So I have taken to covering up the flavor with other stuff. coffee works wonderfull!!

my favorite is :

1oz sf caramel Syrup

1oz sf vanilla syrup

3oz almond milk

3 oz favorite coffee (mine is keurig butter toffee)

1 scoop vanilla Protein

Blenderize with lots of ice.

comes out to about: 130 cal/5carbs/16 protein

Unjury is the only powder that I like..and only 1 flavor.

I used the Oh Yea bottle from the Vitamin Shoppe. It was really good, and 32 Protein. Way to expensive to by now, but was great on the liquid trip.

Looks like you are well on your way to success..........Good Luck

Try Isopure the dutch chocolate is really good! It doesn't have sugar, it is whey Protein and the Nutritionist that I had said it was a Great to use. I turned hubby onto it and we Protein Shake together, you can add fruit to it we put in banana sometimes and also put in Kale, Celery and a sliver of Ginger. Pop in some ice cubes and you have an excellent shake!

smoothie King actually makes a fantastic Protein powder! 45 grams of protein, 180 calories, less than 1 gram of carbs, less than a gram of sugar. Good flavor. chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla. Although I use vanilla because it is the most versatile. Awesome with almond milk and some frozen coffee cubes which I make at night! :) delicious.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
