Well it sounds like every one is doing pretty well with their workouts! :)

I have been pushing myself at the gym this week. I do the treadmill and ellipitcal for 30 min a piece. I usally do them both at about 3.5 so I decided that when a commerical would come on tv, that I would up it to 4.5 and let me tell you I have muscles in my rear end that are really noticing that little push. So I callenge you ladies to give your self a little push in your workout also! :D Let me know how it goes for you and what you are doing.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I start Couch to 5k on Monday and I know I'll be in a world of pain! Lol. I have always wanted to be able to run though. Always envied the athletic people I see going for jogs outside. I can't do more than 30 secs running before im out of breath and exhausted!. I will be doing 60 seconds running, 90 seconds, intervals for 20 minutes to start. I have heard interval training bumps up weight loss so we will see how I do :)

lalaj have you been doing your pilates and yoga?

I havent, I dont have the money for Pilates classes. I have been searching for a yoga class that will work for my schedule. Im home with my children all day. I barely get my walking in every morning. I started the C25K program yesterday and BOY!! and I sore but I still pushed myself this morning to go for my walk, got in 2 miles so Im ok with that. Best thing is, it actually helped my soreness.

I was doing the Zumba at home with the XBOX Kinect, its cool. Its tough for me though. I have to continue to work at that. Overall, walking has been my friend but I know I must do other things.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
