Failing is only if you decide to give up. The briliance of the band is that you can go again to your Dr and start fills and whatnot. I hope you get your head in the game and don't feel emberrassed about going back to your Dr.

Eli, you have a forum full of supporters. Your journey is not over. Your doctor is there to help you, not to stand in judgment of you. So, don't be embarrassed. Go in, get a fill and continue to improve your life. Hey, you are already 24 lbs lighter than when you started. You can do this!

This may sound corny Eli but this is a song lyric from the Doobie Bros from back in the late 1980 that always kept me from giving up:

From the song, One by One... album, One Step Closer

Even when you're close to a dream

It can still let you down

You'll always have a chance to give up

So why do it now

Thats why they say if you mess up dont beat yourself up. Climb back on that train. You are not the first to gain back some weight and wont be the last. Thats why most of us got the band because we had slips and some still do. Dont give up on yourself, you came to far. Good luck were all here for you

Sorry you think you've failed but it is just that...a thought. You should consider working with a Psychiatrist to get your depression under control if it's not currently. They may also be able to help you with your feelings of embarrassment and failure. When you have done that you will hopefully have the motivation and drive to see your Surgeon and start losing the weight again. Like the previous posts have mentioned you regained half not all of the weight. It's important to look at the positives and not focus on the negatives.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
