Ive Been Same Weight Eight Weeks. Any Suggestions?

Recommended Posts

I've been same weight for eight weeks. Got a full two weeks ago, they said I'm fine and I'm rushing. But the scale isn't really moving. I'm working out, I changed my Protein Shakes for more Protein, less sugar. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I was the same weight for four weeks and I am only six weeks out from surgery. Just keep going and it's gonna start up again soon! I just lost 6 pounds! Yay! Make sure you're getting enough good calories, Fiber and fluids. Maybe you can switch around your exercise? Maybe try an elliptical instead of a treadmill? Are you doing strength training? So excited for my first fill on Tuesday! :)

shakes are sliders, you shouldn't still be drinking your food unless the Dr orders it.

I lost 12 lbs my first month and then nothing for the next 3 months. It's not unusual unless you're in the green zone already?

How many calories do you consume per day and how much are you exercising?

BTW-For those of you who are new here, it helps the rest of us if you fill out your profile so we know when you started and where you are in your journey. Also, adding the ticker is instructive.

I think exercise is key, so I say if you're not exercising then start, and if you are then change it up. Go to kickboxing or Zumba, or start doing some jogging intervals...anything different than what you're currently doing helps I think.

Are you weighing protein? If not start. You'd be surprised how easy it is to underestimate how much you are eating.

Let me guess, I bet you are trying to get under 200 lbs. That happened to me. It took me 8 weeks to go from 202 to 199. Soooo speaking from experience I would just relax for few days no exercise and don't worry about food. Your body will "get confused" and you all of a sudden drop 4 or 5 lbs, when you kick it back into shape. Good luck. This is a long journey not a quick trip. The main thing is you will get there eventually. (Banded 8/12/06)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
