leslimaree 0 Posted May 24, 2012 I do and I had a visit with my primary care physician. this was my first visit in a long time but he told me he will have to do documentation on me trying to lose weight over the next three months cause my insurance requires it ahead of time. I was kind bummed but I guess I am just feeling impatient. Over the last few days I have decided to try and lose some weight in the mean time but now I am worried that if I lose a little bit they will say no to the lapband because i am losing some weight. Everytime I try to lose weight, I come to hault and get frustrated and then the weight comes right back on :-(
DeAna N 229 Posted May 24, 2012 I feel the same way I read all the post & I get really motivated to get started but I don't want the insurance co to say no I don't submit my paperwork until the end of July so I don't know if they will use my intial weight or my current weight so I am just working on increasing my Water to 64 oz and eating really slow so that don't be a challenge Sydney u get banded

Most require 35 BMI with two comorbidities or 40 BMI without. I doubt you would lose enough in three months to go below 40 BMI, so I would not worry about that as a problem. If I were you, I would take the next three months to follow band rules- small portions, chew well, high Protein meals and no drinking with or for 30 minutes after meals.
