I can't believe my day will finally be here tomorrow! I am scared, nervous and hoping I am doing the right thing. I am hoping it all works out fine of course. I so can't wait to be able to buy new clothes, new bathing suit, that will surely be the bonus! Its been tough not being able to eat with friends and family. I spent the weekend away at the beach & almost broke out in tears not being able to eat with everyone else. I will be packing my bag today, anyone have suggestions on anything special I can take with me?

The Best spiritual presence I can think to take with you is GOD. He/She is all the "special" you need.

(But I do know what you are talking about, like material things) but I just had to add that.

My Prayers are going forth for you, keep us updated

You'll do great. I had to spend the night, if you do too, you can bring your own pj bottoms, plus stuff to wash your face so you feel clean.

a pillow to put between your tummy and the seat belt for your ride home. I wore a pull over one piece sundress. I've been living in them a lot easier to change and not close to your belly. and a bottle of Water to sip on the ride home. Good luck you are starting a new life! keep us posted

Good luck to you. I can't wait, aug 15th seems like years away for me. Especially since I'm going through a very stressful time in life right. I could eat a horse but God is giving me strength. Without faith, I'd be lost.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
