Dont Recognize Myself

Recommended Posts

Never thought this would happen, but since I lost weight and am close to goal, my face has changed very drastically. I always has a "thin" face even when I was at 40 BMI, but now at 30 BMI it's very different from I ever remember looking. Even when I weighed this same weight before. I feel in a way I am reluctant to lose more because I don't like my face as much... Anyone feel the same way?

I would rather be slim with a few wrinkles than fat with a moon face and multiple chins.

I've noticed some strange looks when I need to give my license to enter a secured building. I was about a 160 pounds heavier in that picture. I would rather be thinner.

I'm just starting to recognize myself in mirror again, well recognize who I thought I would one day look like. But I understand what you are saying. I sometimes stop and look in mirror because I can't believe the skinny face or body belongs to me. I like my thin face and especially my thinning neck. But still some work needs to be done there.

What's really funny is when people I've worked with for years who haven't seen me in a while say I didn't recognize you. And my license, oh my! I was broken out, PMSing, 65 pounds heavier and hate the DMV with a passion. My photo is horrid!!

Oh so much of what I felt was written here. My drivers license still has the old picture. But my Visa card has the new picture. It was easier to change the Visa card and passport than to go to the DMV!! I was years not able to see my collar bones and to not wear nice necklaces unless they had an extender. The 1st time I saw myself in the overhead mirror at Target, I did not recogize ME!!!Most people that I know don't remember me as the fat lady at church! But, that was who I was and didn't want people to only know me that way, anyway!!!Best wishes to us all! Karen

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
