I had to have a complete unfill due to illness in January but had an almost complete refill shortly thereafter. Yes, I have lost more weight.

OK, thanks for responding. I'm thinking that this is what my Doc is going to do and I just wanted to know if starting over would help me break this plateau.

I don't know about it getting you over the plateau, but maybe- why not? What I did notice the week I had no fill was a feeling of panic because for the first time in two years I could eat anything I wanted. I took advantage of having no restriction to have a hamburger (which didn't taste nearly as good as I thought it would) but mostly I felt sort of out of control and more than half frightened until I got my fill back.

I had to have a complete unfill when I had my port replaced last year. I did really well afterwards, losing approx 25 pounds in 3 months. Had some personal stress that knocked me off track at that point... but I am back on track again now.

I don't know if it will help with your plateau... but who knows. It depends on the reason behind the unfill? Are you having restriction issues? Complications of some sort?

If eating however much I want, then I would guess yes, I am having complications. Even after my tight fills I still get hungry and can eat how ever what. I don't know how it could be but thats how it is. It's been 2 yrs and 9 months since banding and I haven't lost any weight in the last 1 1/2 yrs. I make myself stop eating and try not to eat much. I haven't gained any weight either because I really do try by stopping myself and walking daily. I feel as though I'm trying hard by myself and and don't have a band at all. Im getting a new doctor soon and maybe this one will take tests to see if everything is ok. unlike my original doctor. I'm hoping to get a little help from my tool.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
