I'm post-op five days and I'm eating every 2-3 hours, the food is about the size of the smallest jar of baby food. Is the correct. It's yogurt,Soup or something soft.

Did you get specific post-op eating directions from your surgeon? I'd be following those.

Five days post op I was still on liquids what does your diet actually call for? Are you getting all your liquids and Protein in?

Yes, I get 69 grams of Protein with my shakes and another 18 from yogurt. My doc said 2 days clears, 2 days liquids and then soft, the nutritionist said the same thing. And when I look at how much I'm eating the size of a small jar of baby food maybe it's not enough

At that point you are not really eating meals. Just enough to take away the hunger. Soft foods go through pretty quickly, so yes, you'll feel hungry pretty rapidly. Before I started on solids, I was almost always hungry.

This stage is commonly known as "Bandster Hell" It will continue until you get a couple of fills. Its not necessarily bad to eat every two -3 hours, and dont get discouraged if you even gain a few pounds at this point. Its perfectly normal

please refer to my post the gut-wrenching truth.. get used to it... while you have made the big step to get the lap band.. this early recovery period is just that, don't expect much from the band.. its just a healing period and not a period when your band is functional as a weight lose tool... .

Since you are eating so little at a time; I would eat at hour three when you get hungry. Yes this is a healing period but do not use that as an excuse to eat high fat/cal foods. 1/2 of low fat cottage cheese is only 50 cals.

I'm not eating high calorie foods, it's low fat yogurt and chicken broth

Tricia, I glad you are making healthy food choices. I commented about making good food choices because just last week someone asked if anyone had been making their Protein Shakes with low cal ice cream.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
