Tricia39 22 Posted May 20, 2012 I'm post-op five days and I'm eating every 2-3 hours, the food is about the size of the smallest jar of baby food. Is the correct. It's yogurt,Soup or something soft. ****DIVALICIOUS****
running_scared 125 Posted May 20, 2012 Did you get specific post-op eating directions from your surgeon? I'd be following those.
nursemarti 1 Posted May 20, 2012 Five days post op I was still on liquids what does your diet actually call for? Are you getting all your liquids and Protein in?
Tricia39 22 Posted May 20, 2012 Well everyone said something different , I started off on clears then full and now soft. But am I suppose to be getting hungry every 2-3 hours ****DIVALICIOUS****
Tricia39 22 Posted May 20, 2012 Five days post op I was still on liquids what does your diet actually call for? Are you getting all your liquids and Protein in? Yes, I get 69 grams of Protein with my shakes and another 18 from yogurt. My doc said 2 days clears, 2 days liquids and then soft, the nutritionist said the same thing. And when I look at how much I'm eating the size of a small jar of baby food maybe it's not enough ****DIVALICIOUS****
Cocoabean 430 Posted May 20, 2012 At that point you are not really eating meals. Just enough to take away the hunger. Soft foods go through pretty quickly, so yes, you'll feel hungry pretty rapidly. Before I started on solids, I was almost always hungry.

bluetigereyes 95 Posted May 20, 2012 This stage is commonly known as "Bandster Hell" It will continue until you get a couple of fills. Its not necessarily bad to eat every two -3 hours, and dont get discouraged if you even gain a few pounds at this point. Its perfectly normal

Lydia Levy Perez 19 Posted May 20, 2012 please refer to my post the gut-wrenching truth.. get used to it... while you have made the big step to get the lap band.. this early recovery period is just that, don't expect much from the band.. its just a healing period and not a period when your band is functional as a weight lose tool... . honk 780 Posted May 21, 2012 Since you are eating so little at a time; I would eat at hour three when you get hungry. Yes this is a healing period but do not use that as an excuse to eat high fat/cal foods. 1/2 of low fat cottage cheese is only 50 cals.

honk 780 Posted May 21, 2012 Tricia, I glad you are making healthy food choices. I commented about making good food choices because just last week someone asked if anyone had been making their Protein Shakes with low cal ice cream.
