♥LovetheNewMe♥ 1,216 Posted May 20, 2012 I found this interesting, I was googling body image and WLS and this just kind of fit for me. I seem to struggle more and more lately with the excess skin I have been left with after losing 100 plus pounds. When I look in the mirror sometimes I find it hard to see the thin me, I seem to be more critical of my body now than when I was obese. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31489881/ns/health-womens_health/t/phantom-fat-can-linger-after-weight-loss/
Holly Dolly 575 Posted May 20, 2012 I look at it this way, I may have saggy skin on my torso but it tucks nicely into my size 6 pants. I will wear shorts or pants with just my workout bra on when I do the treadmill or just hanging around the house. It honestly doesn't bother me. In fact, I was thinking the other day what my one friend would think who I walk with every morning if she came over and saw me like that. She would prob die! She is one who is very self conscious of herself and will always noticeably eyeball me up and down if I wear sleeveless shirts, etc. I am used to my size now, loving it and never looking back on the old me. She is LONG GONE! I embrace the new me, saggy, droopy skin and all.....except for the arms that will hopefully have plastic surgery on one day! 1 mss924 reacted to this

flrosie 154 Posted March 17, 2013 “We become numb to how mean we’re being to ourselves.” Boy, did that hit home. A very insightful article and something to keep in the forefront of my mind as I go on this journey. 1 ♥LovetheNewMe♥ reacted to this
