MammaMinty 0 Posted May 19, 2012 Hi all - I am 1 day post op. Surgery went well, but I have had chronic pain in the middle of my back between my shoulder blades since the op. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions for relief?
myjourneyagain 45 Posted May 19, 2012 From what I have seen on here in the past, that sounds like really bad gas. Most responses have been to walk around as much as you can like every half hour for about 5 or 10 minutes, take gas relief, and use a heating pad. I hope this helps!! Congrats on your surgery!! kll724 3,055 Posted May 19, 2012 I agree with the op, you need to walk as much as possible. I walked the hopsital corridors 5-6 times while I was there. I had an overnight stay, I was up at 3 am because I coud not sleep, I walked the halls. Best wishes. karen
♥LovetheNewMe♥ 1,216 Posted May 19, 2012 Agree, usually gas and it just has to pass. I think this probably the worst part of the postop portion of the surgery. You can try Gas-x, I lived on this for the first month. Everything gave me gas.
mrspopeye 69 Posted May 19, 2012 Heating pad is my best friend!. I am 5 days post op and still having that pain, esp after I eat and I can lay on the heating pad for 15 min and its gone.
