No I haven't experienced them because I'm doing everything to prevent the pain. Walking and drinking the mint tea. I'm burping alot- actually it's coming out both ends. Are u having this experience?

Where does all the gas come from? I know they blow up our abdomens during the surgery, but that went away, along with the shoulder pain that was totally excrutiating... Now, if I try to drink any of the allowed Clear Liquids, I feel like all that gas comes right back and my entire abdomen is about to explode. I can't even drink 4 oz of Water.

4 days post op and wondering if I made a big mistake :(

The first few days after surgery, when I'd drink my stomach would feel very bloated and I had tummy gas that I couldn't seem to expel. It will pass! Sip very slowly and try hot liquids instead of cold. Ice cold Water just seemed to make my gas worse.

Be patient with yourself. You will be healing for the next 6 weeks. Life with the band will not be like this forever. :)

Your stomach is still swelling from surgery. I also felt like I might have made a big mistake at first also I could hardly get 8oz of liquid down in a day for probably 2-3 weeks. And I was use to always drinking. I carried a drink with me at all times before surgery. Still I don't drink as much as before. Now I worry about getting enough fluids in. We will all adjust over time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
