Mel1098 2 Posted May 19, 2012 Ok, I know this is gonna sound crazy but is it possible for your port to move? I had my surgery on April 20 and up until the last couple of days my port has felt like it has been to the left of the incision. Today I noticed that my incision was very tender and it had a bump in it and it was a little red and warm to the touch. When I felt it it feels like my port is right under the incision. And I can't feel anything off to the left like I could before. Has anyone else had this happen?

lifebegins2012 21 Posted May 19, 2012 Hi. I couldn't exactly 'place' mine initially but then I suppose I didn't want to touch it incase I unsettled it. I'm over 6 weeks post op now and mine tends to sit below and to the left of my scar. As I'm sitting now, it feels it's only an inch below. The port is stitched to your muscle so won't seem to go far but as we're losing weight/body fat, things will shrink and reposition slightly. My port does sit slightly tilted so that could give the impression of moving but it was no problem when I had a fill. Before I had my band, I joined my local support group for banders/bypassers and sleevers and had a feel of 3 peoples ports. They all felt very different and the positions varied. Mel1098 2 Posted May 20, 2012 Well I'm thinking infection because tonight pus and blood started coming out of my incision. Not sure if I should call the doc by it being a sunday. I have an appt for a fill on Thursday but am unsure of what to do at this point. Any suggestions would b welcomed!
Jen75 33 Posted May 20, 2012 Call the doc or an emergency advice number.. Go to the ER if you have to! You do not want an infection! Can be dangerous after surgery! Are you running a temp?!!! You need to know how to deal with it!!! Seek medical attention immediately at least in the am! Do not wait until Thursday!
