Found A Way To Eat Around The Band

Recommended Posts

Omg Allison you have done great...

I check the chips. They also have other things which are similar to Bariatric Choice.com. I would like to try them but they only want to sell to distributors..Which I am not. wish I could be.

How many carbs do you have each day? Carbs do not help you lose weight. Carbs make you crave more carbs...The carbs that are good are veggies and fruits mainly.

Protein helps you lose weight. Protein keeps you full.

To lose weight up protein, lower the carbs.

I have not gone on the website yet. But I will~ I only want the best of all of us.

I just looked up the protein chips. They have 9-11 net carbs (depending on flavor) per serving. Definately something that can be worked in on occasion if the chips are calling your name. was surprised to see they have 10g protein.

I tend to try to stay away from these type of foods because I tend to want them more if they are in the house. I do allow myself a day or two each month to enjoy some higher carb foods that I do miss...like an english muffin or a bowl of oatmeal not usually chips and sweets. Just because once I have them...I seem to develop a taste for them again. But once every now and again I will break bad and have a cookie or brownie.

I usually keep calories between 800-900 and carbs at 35

I think everybody makes a good point. I am 3 1/2 years banded with losing 90 pounds. I am to goal but gained 5-7 pounds last winter and did not get off because our pool was out of service. I am back on track this year with a new pool and am going to get back to goal and hopefully get a few more pounds off. I am 59 and am waiting until 62 to retire and then get a "fun" job. My job is very stressful and I find myself eating sliders, popcorn, is my favorite and trouble food. It goes down without ever getting stuck and with a healthy smoothie with some fruit and Protein Powder I am good for the night. I have no fill and never had a fill and still when stressed I cannot get good regular food down. I find that if I tell myself that I can have anything I want then I won't really want it that bad and can avoid it. That is how I quit smoking 11 years ago after being a heavy smoker for over 30 years. We all need to do what we feel is good for us and works, I have not found two people alike with these bands, everybody has their own way of handling this weight problem, so keep happy and do the best you can.

Thank you for the link to the Protein products.

I don't count calories or carbs. Measuring what I eat makes me crazy. Watching portions seems to work well enough for me to lose weight. I am making an effort to keep better track of Protein, though. I struggle to eat enough protein and wonder if this is why I sleep so much during the day no matter how much I sleep at night.

How do you stay at only 800 cals a day?!?! I'm 7 weeks post op and down 22lbs but my weight loss has stopped the last couple weeks. I go for my second fill in a week. What is your typical day like??

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
