honk 780 Posted May 18, 2012 There is a needle stick. Not really very painful; my doctor doesn't even use any kind of numbing agent. By my first fill I was on solids and had no trouble eating anything. Can you go 4-5 hours after eating before you are hungry? By the way the band does not mean you CAN'T get hungry. I do get hungry if I go 6+ hours between meals (I am at restriction.). My doctor says 3 oz of solid Protein (Yes I do measure even now. ) 3 oz is NOT a lot of food and you are almost guarenteed to think 3 oz looks like more than what it is. I ate low fat/cal veggies until I felt "full". Personally I feel satisfied vs full. That is something you will have to learn on your own. I ask myself am I hungry enough to have another bite. If not a I stop eating.
grannyd43 0 Posted May 18, 2012 Are you loosing, what are you eating and how is it going down. Those are the questions my doctor discusses with me when deciding if I need a fill. We discuss it and make the decision together. Grannyd43

Is the chart about the green zone? i agree, its a learning process we all have to go through. i understand more as i read on this forum though. i dont know where i would have been if i wasnt on here a lot. Keep reading, others will help you with any questions. theres nothing quite like learning from someone elses experience.
Skyvic 226 Posted May 19, 2012 If you are vomiting after a few bites that us not a good sign. Yesterday my surgeon explained, " we want you to be able to eat 3 mall meals and a couple healthy Snacks. Chew small bites...if you are satisfied in between meals you are green zone. If you are eating and going back to the bathroom because you feel stuck, then we have filled you too tight...this can be a bad thing because you can get esophageal dilation. " so you can actually not lose weight if you are too restricted.
