SkinnyMinny 0 Posted March 4, 2006 Hello All! I am feeling a little discouraged! :help: I was banded on Feb 13. I was not home 3 days when I started to feel hungry. I was so ashamed that I was hungry because I felt like the surgery was a waste. When I smell food, I want to literally cry because I feel deprived and I eat small amounts of food that I shouldn't. :hungry: The funny thing is, I have lost about 10 punds. Is this a case of not being mentally prepared for the surgery? I actually quit smoking 2 weeks before surgery and have had no desire to smoke. :clap2: I think with the habit of smoking gone the real addiction is obvious. Please someone advise! msks 0 Posted March 4, 2006 I had my band on 2/2 and felt the same way. In talking to others, it is not unusual for some of us to be this way until the 1st fill. I have mine on 3/13. I can't wait. I lost 10 pounds the first week and none since then.
SkinnyMinny 0 Posted March 4, 2006 Thank you for responding. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this. I mean I was supposed to be drinking liquids for 2 weeks and was eating mash potatoes and pinching meat. Should I confess this to my doctor in case I have done some damage? I know....I'm pathetic. paula 4 Posted March 5, 2006 Hi SkinnyMinny ~ (love the name) There is a wonderful food list somewhere around this place... it gives food ideas that will help you overcome -dramatic- cravings and not feel like youve blown the first month! Hang in there Baby! Youre gonna make it - I promise!

mousecrazy 2 Posted March 8, 2006 Hey, you are absolutely normal! Keep an eye on things while you concentrate on letting that band heal into place, nice and solid. This isn't an instant thing...it does take time and getting your head around the changes...which takes, you guessed it! Time. Take a deep breath, do the best you can, and concentrate on healing. You'll be a happy bandster in no time!
JanetC 2 Posted March 8, 2006 Welcome to LBT!! You're definitely not alone in the hunger stage. My husband was also banded 2/13. I followed 2 days later on 2/15. We're both starving!!!! In fact, they moved our first fill up a week, hehe. Cannot wait!

skbishop78 0 Posted March 8, 2006 Hey, You are so not alone. I was cheating on day 5..with eating 1/2 bag (small grab bag) of baked cheetos. I went and got my first fill yesterday...so maybe it will be better, so far so good. Call your Dr and let them know how hungry you are. My original fill date was 3/14, but I told him I was going to eat the house down, and he moved it to 3/7. It helps to communicate with your Dr whats going on. Good luck!
